vintage Stronglight or Shimano crank setup.

Hello,

My french vintage road bike currently has a Stronglight spindle with french threaded RFG cups.
The crankset is an early 90's Shimano double 105. This setup is not perfect ( the spindle ends are too narrow for the shimano crank bolt holes). My question is; should I;

1.Change the Bottom bracket for a JIS french threaded - to fit the shimano crank. High quality french bottom brachets are hard to find.

2. Keep the stronglight B.B and look for a stronglight crankset.
The fixed cup on my current B.B is very tight and the Local bike shop has notyet been able to remove it.

The advantage of keeping a Shimano crank is the ease of finding crank tools, chainrings etc and regular maintenance.
The stronglight cranks are much better looking but are they technically superior or more durable?
Please can you advise me what options there are.

Yours sincerely, Elad

VeloOrange has French threaded BB JIS, exactly what you need

Determine your correct spindle length and you're there.
