Any problem using older rim with 8 or 9 speed hub?
I've got a Campy Victory Strada rim that I would like to use with an 8 or 9 speed hub. The rim is probably from the late 80s. Any issue with that? This is my first real venture beyond 7 speed.
Thanks in advance!

It's not clear from your post. Are you relacing a rim with a different hub and you want to know of an 8/9 speed hub can be laced to a rim formerly used for 7 speed? Yes of course it can.
OR
Are you asking if you can use a 8 or 9 speed cassette on a hub currently using a 7 speed? Also didn't say what type 7 speed (Campy, Suntour, Shimano) or Cassette or freewheel?
This second question is more complex and needs more info.

Roccobike, sorry the question was vague. I have a bare Victory Strada rim, which was a rim used in the 6/7 speed era. I'm wondering if I can lace an 8/9 speed hub to that rim. From your response, it seems I can do that.
