"Ride [too] fast, take [stupid] chances"...
it's a slogan that also happens to fit great on a headstone.

The cyclist is a jerk plain and simple. He made the false assumption that he could take his line and enjoy his ride despite a double yellow...If your going to break the laws of the road at least make sure you have complete visibility.

He's a runner up in the Darwin Awards. Everybody gets to live until they do something stupid or something eats them. I am a big fan of thinning the herd... by crunch or by lunch.

He's an idiot plain and simple, or he really did go out-of-control in which case, he's just a lucky basstid! It is easy to get over your head in an all out down hill run. Sometimes, you hit your brakes and nothing happens. Or, maybe he was English, and thought he was on the right (correct)side of the road.
Regardless, I hope he's alive and well.

Interesting. Dookie happens.
We had a very experienced cyclist here in NC, big safety guy, great educator on bike/car stuff, suddenly turn left right into oncoming traffic.
We'll never really know why.

I seldom read any of the other forums so if this doesn't happen to fall into C&V, so be it. I chose to read the thread anyway

Its C&V because the bike that was being filmed was an old Ducati single (which incidentally has no brakes to speak of so the cyclist was doubly lucky).....

I'm not a grump. Far from it. I just thought it an odd place for your post.

So, here is a pic of a bunny with two pancakes on it's head.

Yummy, I am hungry.

Kidding aside, I thought it was entertaining but also informative relative to safety. I see posts, even, here about speed, riding habits
and protocol, traffic rules/violations, etc. I thought it was interesting to show an example of how just a single lapse in judgement on
a bicycle - regardless of era or pedigree - can quickly turn tragic.

I didn't think that I shouldn't post simply because the guy wasn't riding a 25 year old steel frame. I know enough people on this forum to
imagine they might share my thinking in some small way.

You're not one of them, I guess.

What does a bunny with a pancake hat have to do with C&V?

If a bunny with two pancakes on its head isn't entertainment, I don't know what is.

Entertaining, yes. But it has even less to do with C&V than my original post. The one that was challenged as to applicability to this sub-forum. By the bunny poster.

Now if the bunny were on a bike, or if the pancakes were...........oh, never mind.

Irony doesn't show well on the internets. What would an irony "smilie" look like?
