I'm buying a Specialized Sirrus frameset, and I'm curious as to the year it was made.

Teal in color with a white heat tube. Lugged cro-moly.

No decals to indicate what tubing it is. No components to indicate a date.


Help, anyone?

I'd guess '87. In '87 the pimary color was red with the script of the graphics as shown. The secondary color was teal and white like your bike. In '88 the graphics went "California wild" in Pearlecent white and Aqua as primary choice and Pearlecent white and red as secondary.

When did Specialized introduce the Sirrus? I wasn't paying that much attention back then... :innocent:

I would suggest that the serial number is GE722651.

This is a Giant of Taiwan serial number, as indicated by the "G". The first digit "7" is for the year 1987.

Specialized had many frames made by Giant during the 1980s.

Another one late to the party, but thanks for the most definitive answer in the thread. Ran across a CL listing and this really helped.
