You'll also need a crank puller if you want it off. Like this: http://www.ebikestop.com/park_tool_c...nks-TL8371.php

Be sure you've removed the bolt washer, and carefully thread the puller in. It should go in easily without much resistance. If you don't have it threaded in properly, or in deep enough, you could strip the threads, which will make removal much more difficult.
