Help identifying a Peugeot
 

Please, help me with this Peugeot:

It has Atax handlebar, Wolber T 430 wheels, Modolo speedy/intern brakes, Sachs Maillard crank, New-succes ariss Huret rear shifter and Huret front shifter.

Good luck. What was the original color? Was there any chrome on it and if so where? Whats the serial number?

Ask for an accurate measurement of the outer diameters of the seat tube (28.0mm French, 1-1/8" = 28.6mm almost everyone else, e.g. Canadian Peugeots) and the seat post. A small difference, such as a 28.0mm tube with a 26.4mm post or a 28.6mm tube with a 27.2mm post, generally indicates a high-quality moly steel, such as Reynolds 531, making that at least a PKN-10.

I`m afraid that`s imposibile~

But, i find that the only 2 swith the configuration above is a 1988 Peugeot Deauville and 1988 PG10 (Aravis). It`s possible?

The frame and fork is a high end mid to lates 80's model. Without further details you'll never really know. The fast back seat stays, pantographed fork crown and lack of dropout eyelets are clear indicators of age.

For a more accurate you'd assesment you'll need:

1. The proper serial number in its proper format with proper spacing. The number provided isnt correct.
2. Chroming. Is there any on the fork ends or dropouts?
3. What size is the seatpost? Anything 27.X would be Reynolds tubing. Anything 26.X would be Super Vitus.
4. Where do you think the country of purchase was? The U.S.? U.K.? It makes a difference.

I would guess high end based on the fact that the top of the seat lug appears to be thin and nicely shaped. You don't see that on lower end Peugeots.

That's all I've got. I don't know much about the '80s Peugeots. I'm stuck in the '70s.

That bike has the same sloping fork crown as my 84 PSV. I suspect that the fork could be fully chromed under that blue paint, just like the one on my bike. The lugs also look similar to what's on my PSV and so are what seems to be Simplex rear dropouts and what look like domed rear stay ends, so that could very well be a mid 80's Peugeot, Could it be a repainted PSV variant (Triathlon??)? It could also be the similar 501 tubed Peugeots of that time.
The pump peg and dual bottle mounts might be a clue.

Well, to end my post, i`m 99,9% sure that is a 1988 Peugeot Savoie PS10B (named Deauville for the US market), with Vitus 980 frame.
