It’s not English but here is a Flying Pigeon that my wife got me for our anniversary a few years back. It assembled easily but was pretty dangerous right out of the box due to ineffective rod brakes and nuts that would rattle off while riding. I switched out the rear freewheel hub to a 3-speed coaster brake for extra gears and stopping power and replaced the factory nuts with nylock nuts. It rides like a dream now. It has big 28” wheels so you sit nice and high while riding.

Makes me wonder if that fork and frame have been married for a long time or might they be newly-weds? If you take the extra stuff out of there, the steerer will either need to be shortened or a bunch of spacers will be necessary. Seems like the steerer is too long for the headtube and a normal length stack of stuff. I suppose there is one thing: it's probably better to shim with some headset parts rather than an old sock. I can hear it: "Hey, I think my fork thing is too long, the nut won't tighten." "Yeah? Stick a sock in it."
Would be interesting to know the steerer threading and the length of the steerer and headtube, or stack height.

Despite saying I was going to give this bike away, I sold it to a guy down the street. I'm in the process of de-cluttering and I really wanted it gone.
The handyman who returned it to me owes money to my next door neighbour for her garage that he rented. She'll get a cut. There was nothing wrong with the bike. It just needed some "re-freshing". New tires, re pack the bearings etc.
Time and money that I'm not prepared to invest as I could never sell it for what it would be worth.

Ladies' 23" for $100 in SC. Never seen this color combo so I suspect they might have mixed some fenders with a different frame. And the seller must think all Brooks saddles are desirable. Still, if I wanted a second one I'd grab it.
