Do you want cloth tape? Cork Tape? Something else? Don't care?

I am currently building up a new Soma frameset that is all black and I am using my trusty antique brown Brooks B17 on it. I was on the fence between red or blue tape, and decided to go with red. I haven't installed it yet, so I don't have pics.

But, point is, I say red or blue.

Plain old black with brown/gum brake hoods, maybe tan/brown/honey toeclip straps could be nice.

I'd say red, it was a surprise how much I liked it with my Competition. The once brown saddle seems to be getting darker by the month.

Ha! That's what I get for not returning your email in a timely fashion! Oh, by the way, any idea who dyed that red tape for me?

Scott
Talk to us next time before you retape, the gap at the brake levers is.... less than what it could be.

Good mechanical points for having almost perfect fender alignment, many just don't see it.

The handle bar showing under the hoods? Is that what you mean? If it is, this is actually a test of different colors I've been flirting with. So no final tape job in this photo, the Modolo hoods are quite brittle.

The red is interesting choice for bar tape. Just an odd ball thought, what about adding a red frame pump? Edit: crap someone mentioned already so I guess I'm not the odd one.

Indeed, Scott, the fenders are sharp. Please identify them for us. I need some for my old man bike. Seriously.

We don't want to hijack this thread .. it's about bar wrap color! The fenders are hammered Honjo's from Velo Orange. They're always worth it when you're done and step back but boy they can test your patience. For me anyway. By the way, up in the civilized north we call them "gentlemen's" bikes rather than "old mens bikes"

Or how about a red saddle like this: https://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...&category=3466, probably easier to find then a red pump, though I guess you could paint the pump...nah.
