On another note, I almost sold this frame set last year but luckily the reserve was not met, though after the auction ended, I received offers for more than the reserve, but I had been given enough time to have seller remorse before the fact.

Came across this cool video on youtube. A guided tour of the Merckx factory by the cannibal himself. Enjoy!

Mmmm-kay.
I just stumbled on a bunch of (crappy) pis I took a long time ago, and since I'm too lazy to bring it down from the hooks and take some better ones - you get what you get

Tongue hanging out, drool on chin, naked greed on face. If that bike was my size, you'd be in serious danger!

I don't see too many Professionals - a lot of Corsa's and Corsa Extra's, but very few Pro's. I think this is the first one posted in this thread.

What a great bike!!! Love the color, and it looks like she is in "erste klasse" condition.
Very classy indeed.
Don't ever worry about pic quality with me.
I'm the guy who drags the bike out to the front steps, takes 5-10 snaps, and pronounces the photo shoot complete.
Drives my family crazy. I don't think they want the neighbors to know how many bikes "dad" is hoarding.

Love it.
Looks showroom fresh. I wouldn't change one thing on that bike, except for some new tires.
I'll say it again, you have an incredible knack for finding delightful road bikes.
Keep up the good work, and thanks for adding this to our little thread!

Thank you for the compliment gomango! I`ll try to do my best!
This bike is just outstanding, and like you call it, showroom fresh.
If cleaned, I think you couldn`t see the difference between new and this one.
And the best is that it`s in 57cm, which is my size
Oh, and since this is a Merckx thread I can not resist to post my other one.

I have a vintage green white and red 7-11 winter jacket (nylon front and sleeves, wool everywhere else) lying around somewhere, if any of you with 7-11 team color bikes are interested, let me know (via PM) and I'll try to find it.

This thread is dangerous.
When this was first started a few months ago it made me think that maybe I COULD have another bike in my life and within a couple of days there was an EM frame/fork on my local CL for a fair price. I met, paid and went home with my prize only to find a few problems and inconsistencies. It can all be sorted out but now it will be a full on restoration instead of a cool beater/rain bike.
Darn You BF for your tantalizing imagery and mind numbing lack of common sense that you bestow on us!!

Mostly Mischief
I like the down tube logo on Lynn's and BBM's bikes. It seems like it precedes the 'bubble script' on the rest? Not that there's anything wrong with those: Mine has delicate silver out lining and a delicious raised font:

All in all I think Merckx (or his art advisor) had very good taste in color schemes/combination, which certainly add to the immediate appeal. I even like the controversial Team Telekom. In fact only the 7-Eleven version without the white in between seems a little off to me. And thankfully he mostly avoided the hideous airbrush fade jobs of the eighties.
Anyway, mine has already been posted, but I changed bar tape and saddle, something which certainly will qualify it for a repost:

Mine is a ca 92 Corsa. It was originally in red and white Faema livery.
