CMAW

Thank you for the link.
I read the Miyata-Merckx report (or story?) in the Japan's cycling mag, I'm not sure what mag it was.
The article of the link was just same as my memory.

And this photo!
It must have been on New Cycling, and I think Miyata still has this Merckx.

The King Merckx version bible and The King's holy handwriting.

1985, Shimano invited Merckx to Tokyo and held an event.
They screened the best cycling movie La course en tete.
After the movie, talk show and autograph session were held.
I brought 3 pieces of trade card but forgot this bible.
It was the biggest sxxt of the year!

An absolute delight. Tell me, which frame size is that? 60 perhaps? By the way it was your Domo Farm Frites MXL (and this one confirms it) that convinced me to put a black headset on my Strada. Speaking of, it is a work in progress and looks like this:

What do you think about white stem? Yay or nay? Or should I just keep it all black:

Yes, that is a Deda Newton cockpit

Mine's not C&V, although I'm told it's one of the last to be made in Italy, so possibly "C" status is in its future.

A carbon SXM which had Hed Belgium wheels (because...Belgium), but they don't match the color scheme, so for photos, I threw on a pair that looks better cosmetically.

I'm hoping to add a vintage bike in the traditional blue and orange color scheme when the right one comes along.

Under the BB cover should be the serial number: M and a few digits - this will make it easier to date this frame.

Merzaic, well its a strawberry, whats there not to like? especially since they haven't been built for a while now. I met Andy Newlands at a bike show at a bar in SE PDX a few yrs back and hung out with him for a while, nice guy, and meticulous builder. would've love to have had one of his frames.

Yep and Tx, I have 3 now and another older one in the works. Andy actually built one in the last couple years and I strongly suspect he is working off a maybe long list of promised frames still to be completed. He was going to build the new one above but changed his mind.

Did you meet him at Velo Cult or before that at one of the Oregon Framebuilder shows, maybe Hopworks?

So here's the story.

The old and the new, the ying and the yang, the good, bad and the ugly, you decide.

Hopworks - never saw him at velo cult, and they had an event there with buildings 2nd to last yr they were in business, I met up with the guys at BreadWinner and eventually had a b-road built. but I loved the Strawberry trad build, he's a special builder and person.

Absolutely agree as well as being responsible along with Merz and DiNucci for PDX being the framebuilding epicenter it is and has been to this day.

DiNucci was at that Hopworks show as well with his new Allez inspired reboot build and Andy came to 2 or 3 of the Velo Cult shows including the last one before they closed.
