For those with a 1974 SC and have swapped out the 27" wheels for 700c, did you have to get new brakes or did the 750 centerpulls still reach?

SC Mk II as a town bike
I have a need for a bike to get around town at work on days when I drive in. So, I pulled down a Super Course Mk II frame I've had hanging from the rafters in the shed for years and built it up with (mostly) parts from the bins.
Suntour Vx derailleurs and barcons
TA CycloTouriste cranks w/Stronglight BB
Sunrace 13-28 7-sp freewheel
VO Porteur bars
Weinmann 610/750 brakes (barely long enough in front) w/ Koolstop pads
Normandy Hubs laced to Mavic Module E rims
Avocet Cross tires (nominal 700x35, actual ~30mm on the rims)
Lyotard pedals
Jim Blackburn rack
Other stuff
I think the BB is a couple of mm longer than I need, but it works well-enough that I won't bother to change. Still need to dial it in a bit, but this is mostly ready to go.

I commuted on my 79 yesterday and it really is a great bike. I would have a hard time justifying another bike purchase right now considering how great this humble Super Course is.

Wow, two SCs with forged drop outs in a row!! That wasn't common in the '74 to '75 red/white or green/white versions. Mine has the lowly stamped drop outs, with the odd Proprietary threading in the fender eyelets. Always made me jealous......
