Good thing I'm too far away. I'd buy this in a heartbeat (and get in trouble for it).

What tires are these, please?

Looks like Conti Top Touring 2000. They are a real nice tire and run fast enough and absorb the bumps
They were discontinued by Conti a few years back and have been replaced by Conti's Top Contact touring tire.

Man, this is still for sale. Last thing I need is another bike but it's tempting. 100 miles away or I'd probably have it already. What is it, a '73?

How badly do you want them, they are on the bike hanging in the basement of my house in PA while I am in Cambodia. They could be dry rotted by the time I get back.
there was a little dryness to the edges when I bought them used from a local Co-op.

My 85 Super Course AGAIN, this time with aero wheels, and matching blue tires. IMO, it up the looks about 40%
A creation of Robbie Tunes..

Quite stunning with the new changes! How does she ride, like the wind ?

Just today I was looking at my 84 SC sitting forlorn in the corner of the shed still lacking a set of Shifters to fit over those dang shift bosses.

Robbie does good work. The Raleigh's of that time period were great, IMO.

How does she ride? OMG, she rides like the wind, in fact, it rides better than it looks, if that is possible. Smooth, gears are buttery smooth, wheels and tires give up a smooth tight ride. While I was looking at it, one more change is coming.. The seat, I see a blue black Selle Italia, if they go for my offer, I will put that on there, I think it will up the looks another notch..

BTW,there is GOLD inlays too, on the forks, seat post, DT shifters and the Raleigh on the framestays..

Blue Selle Italia, over the top!

I saw the gold inlay on there as well. Plan on doing it with mine.

Thanks for the ride report.

Here is my '73 In her latest iteration.
I found a '73 Brooks Pro, a very clean set of "Raleigh" branded cranks, and a NOS set of Raleigh Dust Caps. I also changed the bar tape and the cables to white. I like it much better now.

My Super Course runs well, and I enjoy riding it, but I've decided to fix up its appearance. It has the metallic green colo(u)r from the early 70s. How do I go about doing paint touch-up? My standards are not very high. I just want some sort of improvement.

It can be a slippery slope. But you can get good results with Krylon or Rustoleum spray cans and they have a very broad palate of colors to choose from. The part that many people find challenging may not be a challenge for you at all: stripping the frame of all its components. That alone will raise the level of the result above "did you steal that thing?" A little prep with sandpaper, maybe a coat of primer if you're feeling generous, and patience with the top coats. That was my biggest challenge: the waiting.

Just a SEAT CHANGE, but oh boy...

Can't get enough of this bike, and it rides about 10 times better than it looks. And to think when I drove 50 miles to look at this bike, it was so ragged that I almost passed on getting it.. I think you all know the history this bike, after ripping the wheels, and other components off the MASTER BLASTER (aka Robbie Tunes)put his genius on it, and man oh man..

I just added a seat, and in my eyes it compliments it perfectly. Has the right blue, a touch of yellow and black, and it feeeelllll soo good..

If I posted this before, I apoligize, as I am in the early stages of SENILITY..

1972 Super Course

When I was 14, I bought a new coffee bronze 1972 Super Course. It took me over a year of lawn mowing, snow shoveling, and birthday and Christmas cash to save the $150 for the bike. I rode it everywhere in high school and college. Eventually, I bought a new 1986 Trek 520, and the old Super Course went by the wayside.

Last winter, I acquired a 1972 coffee bronze Super Course in decent shape. It has a few scratches, and the beautiful gold Raleigh script on the downtube is faded. When I got it, it was original, including the handlebar tape.

To make it more useful for riding, I replaced the original (rusty) steel Stronglight cottered crank with an old Sugino GT triple I had laying around. I also replaced the original crappy Simplex Prestige derailleurs and shift levers with '70s era Sun Tour derailleurs and shift levers, which work much better. The original 14-28 freewheel was replace with a 14-32 Sun Tour Ultra 6 freewheel.

The wheels are the original Normandy HF hubs with Weinmann 27x1 1/4 inch rims. The brakes are the original Weinmann centerpulls, and the saddle is a Brooks B5N in surprisingly good shape.

The bike rides nice, and brings back memories of riding my old Super Course.

@lugsNleather58, that's really nice, and you made it work better than before. I like those reverse-action front derailleurs.
