A few folks razzed me about the length of the brake cables on Capo #1, so I cut them back a few inches.

I really like the look of that Trek, and I'll bet the ride quality is superb.

Hi melonbar123 -
Your bike epitomizes the reasons why there is such a renewal of interest in old Treks. For sure, yours is a real classic. Your efforts paid off. Enjoy!

Another very nice Trek!

They are coming out of the wood work locally.

I love it, as it beats having them sit in garages.

For sure.

High quality steel, craftsmanship, and parts. Made me a Trek fan as soon as I got it.

That looks great! I had a Cyclone M-II and it also got beat up pretty quickly. The whole aero look they were going for by using paint sure didn't hole up as well as a nicely pantographed Cyclone. Oh well, it's still probably one of the smoothest shifting RD I've used (not that I have used too many )

It's a 1983 Trek 700, the only year it was offered. I believe it was the sport/touring model. Full Suntour Superbe, Campy wheels, and Cinelli bars/stem. The glory year before the "700" moniker went to the abyss of "Multitrack" hybrids.

There was a video on YouTube with a Trek exactly like that being filmed in a park. Some guy wedged times in between his brake pads and the calipers to toe them in.

Sorry, just a misunderstanding. Beautiful bike.

I thought I recognized it, but I'm not entirely sure where. Are you from around here?
