Seeking Torelli Corsa Strada Info
Hi all, first time posting on BF.
Does anyone have any info on early Torelli Corsa Strada bicycles? This is my first geared bike was thrilled up until I paid my LBS a visit. I have searched the net but really no luck, I am awaiting response from Torelli and my LBS was of no help as he ridiculed my newly acquired joy saying it was a high-end wal-mart bike and that Oria just did not compare to Reynolds or Columbus and that I was riding in a tank. To me it feels like it weighs about 5+lbs more than my Al Langster.
Now, how does Oria tubing compare to Reynolds or Columbus? Is this a bike I want to keep as is or upgrade wheels, brakes, etc? The bicycle comes equipped with the following:
Campagnolo Nuovo FD/RD Patent 83 with Campagnolo shifters
Ambrosio 19 elite wheels with 6 speed Regina record
Ofmega cranks and skewers
Modolo Sporting brakes and brake levers
ITM made in Italy quill stem and bars
Thank you for your help
Will post pix up once I figure it out

It's not a top, top end bike, but it sounds very solid and nice. The LBS is completely off-base as far as it being anything even close to a wal-mart bike, or a tank. that's an absurd assessment of your bike, probably out of jealousy or annoyance that you didn't buy one of their overpriced plastic pieces of junk. i would never go back there again if i were you!

Hello Freshbrew welcome to the forums. I agree with delicious the bike shop is nuts. while not the cream of the crop, they were nice bikes for the money. Torelli was the house brand of Torelli Imports. they frames always looked very nice to me and were reasonably priced. Oria tubing was pretty nice stuff too it just depends on the grade of tubing. I am more familiar with the SL bikes from the late '80s and again while nice bikes they often sold for $100 or so less than a comperable frame like a Geurciotti or Battilign from 10 speed drive or Giordona's bikes
what are the components?
likely one of the reasons the shop badmouthed the bike was lack of a index shifting system
PS how about some more pics? these pics are from the "craigslist" side. pics for the C&V forum need to include some from the drive side *giggle*
