My First Build
 

Hello,

I finally completed my first build. I know it's not exactly C&V but it's not all new either and I think I'd rather post it here because it's where I spend most of my browsing time.

The main components are...

Frame: Cilo Pro with Columbus Nebra (cyclex gen.) Tubing
Fork: Kinesis CF with Alloy Crown, steerer, and drop outs
FD, RD, Cranks: Shimano 600 Tri Colour
Brake Calipers: Shimano 600 Tri Colour dual pivots
Bars and Stem: Easton EA 70
Brifters: Shimano Ultegra 6500 9 speed
Wheels and Hubs: Bontrager XL
Seatpost: Lemond Alloy 27.2
Headset: FSA Orbit UG w needle bearings on the bottom

A bit of a mix of components which I'm sure will change over time, but here it is...

I was originally going to go with a different colour scheme and have yellow cable housing but decided that may be a bit too much. I'm not wild about the bar tape either but it will do for now and I will probably eventually change it to a yellow that matches the frame's decals.

Hi nice looking bike! I certainly would have done the yellow cables, I am thinking of changing a project I am doing now to yellow cables. what is the frame material and is that toptube square or something?

I think it may just be the lighting that is making it look like the top tube is square. The downtube is OS Ovalized but everything else is just standard tubing. The frame materials is Columbus Nebra which is of cyclex generation steel. I contacted Columbus to find out more information a couple of times but they said they had not heard of it and that it may have been a custom tube set made for Cilo. The seat tube diameter is 27.2mm and the frame (no fork, bb, or headset) weighed in at approximately 4.6lbs. It's a 59 cm CTC seat tube and at 58.5 CTC top tube, so it is square in that sense haha. Based on the weight etc, the tubing seems comparable to SL. I checked for ridges like SLX has but as far as I can tell it didn't have any, then again I'm not sure how it would feel. Thanks again!
