Cyclepro Rendezvous
 

I did a little searching around and the newest thread I could find on this brand was from 06.

I recently cam across a CyclePro Rendezvous Hybrid bike. Frame is 1200 Tange and made in USA. The parts look decent and mt thinking was that it would male a fun little bike around town. It has a ton of braze ons, DT shifter mounts if needed and Canti brakes.

I just cant find anything out this model that was "Made in the USA" all of the other threads were stating another county of origin.

I know this is kind of an old thread but did you buy the Cyclepro? There is one for sale where I live also. I am going to look at tomorrow and the owner is the original owner. He said he paid around $500 when he bought it new and it has been in his garage for years. I am looking for an old rigid frame to make a commuter.

I still have the bike. Its still sitting needing tires right now.

Did you ever find any other info on the CyclePros's? He didn't know what kind of tubing it is so hopefully it is chromoly. Does yours have cantilevers or U brakes? The way it sounds, if I want it, it can be bought in the $50 range.

As for the OP's 'Made in the USA' frame, are you sure it wasn't designed in the USA?

I worked in a bike shop for several years in the early 80's and we sold CyclePro BMX bikes but for the life of me I don't remember any of their mountain bikes. If the tubing is Tange 1200 that pretty well dates the bike also.

Mines got Cantis. Its a Hybrid style bike, Tange 1200 stick and a Made in the USA sticker on the downtube.

If the one I am looking at tomorrow is Tange tubing I will buy it providing it isn't all beat up. I assume the components were probably Suntour instead of Shimano if it is a mid to late 80's model.

Well I just got back from looking at the CyclePro and it was a T**d. To start with it wasn't the frame size he said it was but worse was the fact this must have been a later model Rendezvous because it wasn't Tange tubing, and to be honest, it looked about a step or two above a department store model. It had a BioPace crankset with Exage components including rear U brake. I was told it had always been garaged but if that is the case it didn't have a roof on it. As far as I was concerned, all I saw was an old heavy, rusty, junker that I didn't need. Funny how people differ on their version of excellent shape.

Cycle Pro was the house brand for West Coast Cycles. They were half way decent bikes for their time. If it is an '06 model, then it may have been manufactured at the Raleigh facility in Washington State. WCC, Raleigh, Diamond Back, and possibly Univega, all were brought together into one brand company in the 90's.I believe that the frame was imported as a front triange and rear triangle from Taiway, brazed together in Washington State, then labeled as made in the USA.
