My guess is late 80's, maybe an 87 or 88. They were pretty decent bikes, imported lugged chro-moly frames and upper-entry level components. The one I have at home has Suntour accushift indexed derailleurs which work fine. It probably has Araya 27 1/4 aluminum rims like the one I have.

I would say the price is pretty fair, if the bike is truly in good condition. I would sell it for that price if it were mine, but that would be fully tuned up with good tires, fresh grease and new cables. Just looking at that picture, the front and rear tires don't match and it appears the front one is crumbling.

I am guessing back carrier bracket means a rear rack to carry bags. I assume it's just not mounted in the pictures.

This bike is much much much better than the Murray

It's a pretty big bike, looks like maybe 62cm. For what it's worth I am 6 foot tall and ride 58 and 60 cm frames.

Decent 4130 Cro Mo with cast drop outs. One of the rear drop outs will probably have a sticker that Says "Giant" who is the manufacture. Shimano Light action derailleurs on the 88 I had (just sold it).

Not a bad bike. They ride nice enough.
$150 is fair if price if it has had a recent tune up and it is in decent shape.

The World Sport is one of those Le Tour type stories. They started out like the Le Tours, heavy frame and steel wheels, stamped drops, etc. Like the Le Tour, the
World Sport gradually progressed into quite a decent bike. Entry level or no, they still ride nicely. Update the components, add bar end shifters, and your good to
go.,,,,BD
