Bridgestone Kabuki
Went down to my LBS last night to get some of that nice Velox rim tape (i love that stuff) and the head mechanic says "Hey, we've got a bike for you!"
Nice.
At the very least its got Working Weinmann Centerpull brakes and a working Suntour Honor RD and a Spirt FD and Suntour Stem Shifters...and an odd seatpin with the adjustment bolt at the top and no pinch bolt on the seat tube. I assume this is one of those "Expanding Wedge" seatpins.
here she is just as I picked it up last night
Cottered Crankset
Honor RD in good condition
Odd Seatpin, sorry for the out of focusness, you can see the Bolt on top that lightens it.
Cool headbadge
Its about a 24" frame, 32.5" standover... My guess is early 80's. Paintjob is in very nice shape and its got double eyelets front and rear for fenders and racks. Hi-Ten Steel construction according to the Seat Tube Decal, but its surprisingly light for Hi-Ten....weighs a little less than my Super Course if I had to guess.
I doubt I'll keep it simply because I have no use for it so I'm gonna see if any friends want it...if not it'll probably be headed for the ISO/For Trade thread.....Haven't really considered flipping it because its not really my scene but I suppose its a possibility.

I've got one of them. It's the same size, but is yellow. That thing weighs about a million pounds. Seriously - the fork and frame, with the original bottom bracket all weigh about 10 lbs. Total, as I got it, it was about 35 lbs.

I would say '70s. In 1980, when I was considering buying a Kabuki, I don't recall seeing any models in the catalog that had cottered cranks.
Date codes on the components could help.
Is there any online reference for Kabuki serial numbers? I dunno.
