I had a Kent banana-seat kid's bike in the early '70s. I won it in a raffle. I had to give my Schwinn to my younger sister. The Kent wasn't nearly as good as the Schwinn.

That's all I know about Kents. I never saw another one besides the one I had.

Kents were sold at K-mart back in the 70's. I'd say they were one step above a Huffy. They were functional. $30 for a frame is pretty good. Make sure the frame is straight.

Not worth building up IMHO. I wouldn't pick it up for free personally.

Neither would I, but to put that in perspective, I need another bike like I need a hole in the head.

If I needed a frame, and I had all the other components, I'm sure I'd settle for a Kent frame in my size. Even so, I would not pay $30 for it.

On the bright side, the Kent is one bike you can repaint all you want without ever reducing its resale value!

Fixie conversion candidate, which would justify the $30 price.

Crap - when I saw the post title I thought it was going to be a Clark-Kent which obviously would have been an entirely different matter. Nice looking frame though.

It's not common knowledge that Superman's heat vision makes a great brazing torch when applied judicially by a mild-mannered frame builder.....

Yeah....I asked the guy if he had anything else. He showed me larger painted yellow frame. He showed me headbadge and was like "yeah I glued a peugeot badge on there to look cool or something".

That is a beautiful hand lugged Hi-ten steel frame made in Japan in the early 1980's... perfect for a fixed gear or build it up as road bike. It is not a mountain frame because there are no Cantilever bosses on the fork or rear stays. Back then, so many mountain bikes had road bike geometry (Parallel top tube instead of sloping). This could even be the long lost twin of those specialized stump jumpers but with no cantilever brase on's it has to be a old ten speed frame from back in the day. Lugged frames are best. They sure don't lug them like they used too,... too bad.
