Armstrong 10 Speed update

Hey Guys,
I've cleaned her up a bit, lubed, adjusted, changed out failed hardware, new tires, cables, bar tape. It still has a way to go. I want to rechrome the crank set. The pedals cleaned up fine but the crank assembly is rusty, I still repacked the bearings and adjusted the BB . It rides better than I remember. Any thoughts, or creative suggestions?

Re chroming is expensive.. Wait for a replacement crank to show up on a $20 bike?
