Pre-1998 Campagnolo Ergo hoods?

Does anyone here happen to know where hoods can be found for the pre-1998 Campagnolo Ergo integrated shift levers?

To be more precisce, hoods that are not black. Ideally, white or brown ones.

Or... Does anyone know how I could get hoods made in white or brown?

I don't think that the Ergo hoods came in brown (gum?), I've actually only seen the black hoods for
the early ergo levers with the more conical top.

The part number you are looking is EC-RE500. Have fun googling

I have been looking into this as well and no, there are no other alternatives than the black EC-RE500. None on eBay, and I haven't found any other company that makes other colors. Hudz only make replacement hoods for post-'98 with the new design, so sad to say, but you're out of luck..

But you could always just make a mold of your black hoods, and then make your own out of colored rubber.

It doesn't seem like it would be too hard...

In fact, now that I think about it, if anyone is willing to send me a hood, I'd love to try to make a mold of it...

I'm sure I've got a few hoods that don't need to be anywhere anytime soon. I'd have to look and see exactly what I have, but I've got a pile of ergo parts that I'm slowly piecing together into working levers. Some have hoods of varying quality but it should be easy to turn them into decent repros if you can work out the molding details.

I was thinking about that. How do you make a mold that really works? And where is the rubber from? If it'll work, I'd be down for it. The black just doesn't work for me.

Is Nick going to be using Brifters? Wow, that's actually kind of surprising, though not in a bad way.
If all is lucky, in a few hours my only brifter equipped bike will no longer be mine. Doesn't mean I don't like it. Campy brifters are great.
