What is this Campy BB?
Ok, I need help. Going through all my stuff this weekend and I can't figure out what I'm looking at. This BB came with a Super Record group I acquired several years ago. So I'm reasonably certain it was attached to the Super Record crank it came with.
But, the axle is 115.5, and has the shield logo, rather than the typical world logo. A Super Record Italian should be 113, no? I've also never seen a black lock ring. It is alloy.
What is this? Thanks! I've been overthinking this for an hour now.

At some point in the early 80's ( ahh reading post above 1978) CPSC mandated that the spindle length on these be changed. 115.5 mm is the post CPSC length for the Record bottom bracket.

I recently went through the whole pre/post '78 change issues, fitting a '79 record crank onto my new to me '76
colnago super. I'm building it with mostly pre '78 nuovo record, and used a flat caged NR front der., which turned out to work fine.

I expected at least a few comments about the lockring.

That was the special post CSPC black safety lock ring. So the glare off the chrome would'nt distract you and possibly cause an accident.
