It's been a while: Gratuitous Paramount Pics

It's been a while for me, that is, since I've built up a bike to completion. I've got a number of projects that have been languishing in my basement, victims of velo ennui.

I mustered the energy and cash to finish my '84 Paramount frame with a mix of modern 9 speed Campy (is 9 speed modern anymore?). Rides nice and looks pretty good, I think.

Okay haters, at least it's got some vintage shoes!

Chomping at the bit, ready to ride:

And ride it too. You owe me a Paramount ride,
remember?

You got clipless shoes?

If I do bring it, which is iffy, I'll keep it on the big ring just for you!

Looks great!

Still riding that Guerciotti like every day too. I put a longer stem on it and it's riding wonderfully.

Glad you're putting some miles on it! Wish I could keep every frame...but I gotta stop going through them like water!

Thanks for the kind comments. I was hoping this bike would pedal itself, but alas...

Found one at a swap meet and bought its twin from slushlover right here on BF! As far as I know, they're discontinued. Avocet has the FasGrip tires on their website (no skinwall though), but apparently they're not being produced.

JYB,

Great lookin' P!

I'm proud of you for hangin' the Campy triple on the frame and that big range cassette on the rear wheel! As that hippo on Escape from Madagascar likes to sing; "I like them big!"

I've been riding frequently with a buddy from the church. Tonight near the end of 25 miler we stopped at another church buddy's house, and he was the first local person to recognize my '83 Paramount as a great bike "back in the day," as he said.

Can I post a patriotic shot of my American legend? Flag day is Monday!

Missing a pair of dropout adjuster screws? And what happened to the rear of the fork crown, around the brake nut recess?

Really? Make me want to open that white door with the horse painted on it and see if I'm lucky enough to find me a Paramount!

IF Cudak were here he'd say THAT'S NO PARAMOUNT.

Of course, my '89 would disagree and say yours looks tremendous!!

Don't want no fake Paramounts on C&V. Can't tolerate them either!
