Hello everbody, I've recently understood that I'm inlove with the Concorde-bikes. They are all just amazingly beautiful! By all the bikeporn I've seen, Concorde is outstanding! So, now on to the real deal. Give me some porno here guys! I wanna see your badass (and not so badass) Concorde-bikes!

I'll start with py pride. A old tt-bike which I'll start restoring as soon as there is time! Better pic to come.

Concordes are such nice looking bikes! I love how even there entry level stuff has such great paint jobs and details.

Project PDM Concorde intermezzo

Halfway build

Already put the tray with Concorde pantographed delights up in my previous post, but I never came to picturing the frame. Till now. Here it is:

Frame has 'SL' stamped under Cinelli spoiler shell and in steerer, so I assume it is made with Columbus SL. I have also seen Squadras with SLX and TSX, but SL it is for this one. I think it is earlier than all the other frames I've seen so far.

Build will be with C-Record and a little Nuovo Record.

All parts are cleaned and serviced. Everything is ready to be put together making a very fast gem.

My aim is to have it finished with upcoming TdF start in R'dam.

Goodness dio mio, that Squadra is a nice frame. I want one.

I guess I'll have to consider this a 'before' photo as this is the one bike I have that deserves a re-paint. If anyone has some model info or other knowledge about the bike I'd appreciate any help identifying it.

Yep, I pulled it out just to get a better shot of the dropout. I've never encountered Ultech dropouts and have no idea about them. Hope someone does...

I had a Concorde Europa (I think, 1989) whose frame was built with Ultech double butted Cr-Mo.

Ooo.. new catalogue! I've only seen Elev12k's 1993 catalogue on Retrobike.

--does anyone know where the Aquila sits in Concorde's lineup? It's got internal routing, SLX/TSX tubing, so I figure it's up there with Squadra.

This popped up on my local CL yesterday. I drooled, saw its price tag (750) , and went back to work.

It is one of the top level models. I've seen Aquilas with SL, SLX and TSX. Dito for the Squadra, however I would think the Squadra was always positioned slightly above the Aquila. Apparently it used the nicer tubing in a given year or some details were different. For example my Squadra has a Cinelli spoiler shell, while I do not recall seeing that on an Aquila.

Too bad it's got such a boring and understated saddle.

Apologies if this is dumb or offensive, but are you OK with the amount of seatpost insertion you have? Judging by the parts pic above it can't be much. Maybe I'm just risk-averse.

Thanks Elev12k. I felt the same way as I've noticed just a bit more pantographing on Squadras than Aquilas (head lugs, for example).

jbonamici, I think he probably just threw the seat post on to have it on the bike, instead of laying around the shop. And it also plugs up the seat tube hole.
