Another Bianchi ID c.83
All the seller can tell me is that it is a "Piaggio", has Campy components and tubular tires, so I don't have a lot to go on. I believe the serial dates it to late 1983. I'm sure someone has better eyes than me?

I suspect it's comparable to mine, with a tre tubi frame, making it a cut below the Reparto Corse full-Columbus models, but a very nice bike, nonetheless. The decals look about right for 1983. (Mine has the previous style of BIANCHI graphics.)

Chill man.
I'm no expert like others around here, but it doesn't seem bad for the $350 asking price. Being that it is celeste and appears to be in good shape with the original pump. Others will chime in I'm sure, but I'm going to take a guess at an early to mid 80's Alloro or Nuova? This is a general guess, but its the best I have. |
we need a bit more information. "campi Components" does not tell us alot. how often hav you had some say a bike "Full Campagnolo" only to have the RD and shifters be Campi and the rest Ofmega and Modolo. ask the seller for a list of components.
I suspect the cranks could be Ofmega and the brakes Universal or Modolo. the decals with the 'flag' look '84ish -87 but the Piaggio decals were last used for the Bianchi USA bikes in '84 I believe. |

well part of what I based my reply on was just the knowledge that Bianchi used to use say a NR fr + rd and shifter on several models and then the Ofmega or GPM (giepimme?) cranks and Modolo or Universal brakes to get the different price points.
they could well be after market but the black brake hoods look more like noncampi to me. also, now this might be my imagination or the fuzzy pic, but the dome nut on the front brake looks very small indicating it might be a Modol with their allen head type bolt. still I am sure this is a fabulous bike. it certainly looks clean and well cared for http://images.craigslist.org/3n93kd3...ab2a211e2c.jpg |
Man, already kicked down to the third page. :)
It appears to be [an '83 or] '84 Nuovo Racing, made in late '83. Columbus Tretubi frame. Everything original, including the celeste pump, two Bianchi water bottles, & even the handlebar tape was original and in good shape. And a spare set of wheels, NR to GP4s. Well taken care of, but I'm sure it would need some new grease as it hasn't been ridden in years. [The owner has had several newer bikes since then]. Even the Modolo hoods were still pliable. 56cm c-t ST, 54cm c-c TT. Too small for me, unfortunately. |
OH so you never purchased this? too bad it's too small it is a great looking bike
