Stop a Rip in a Saddle from Spreading?
 

How would you guys stop this giant gash in my new (to me) Flite from spreading? I'm not really worried about it. It'll be used on a mountain bike and then put on a beater, but I don't want to get it re-upholstered right now.

Take a piece of duct tape and stick it to the cover, starting at the opposite side of the nose, and tear off enough length to wrap around and least 1-1/2 times. Adhere it to the cover, stopping just short of the rip. Use the tape to pull the cover away from the pad, enough to work contact glue or contact fabric glue to both sides of the inner surfaces. Keep it separated with the tape until both sides tack up, usually 3-5 minutes. Then use the duct tape to pull the cover material even with the rip, and tape it down the rest of the way. Let it sit an hour.
