Just won me a proper bike on fleabay
For the last few years Ive been riding a 83 peugeot ph-10 (i think).
This bike has a standover height of 33.5"... Ive got a 32 inseam. so Im cruisin on ebay the other night and find this 30" standover height trek. The only other bike Ive ridden besides the peugeot was a early 90s trek 8700 composite mtb so Im in love with the brand.
Lemme know what you guys think.
also one side question. What is "carbolite? Ive been in a aero materials class at school and havnt heard of this material. Is it a peugeot made term to make a low end bike sound fancy?

many bike manufacturers give a special name to their tubing to make it sound fancy.
Nice trek.

Judging by the headtube, I'm not sure that the Trek is going to be 3-1/2" shorter than the Peugeot. They appear, to me, to be about the same size.
Either way, it's a nice bike. I like the Peugeot, too!

Amazing, but true...
Haha. I bought a pukegoat just like that from my parents neighbor a few years back for $10. Made it a fixed gear and gave it to a buddy's girlfriend. She called it Vaginapocalypse and was the only lady fixster in town. Sorry, flashing back, haven't seen that peugeot paint scheme in awhile! I like the new trek too, as I think you will. The triple up front seems unnecessary, but that's my opinion. I'm sure your braking will be much improved too!!

diego: It better be 3 inches shorter the seller said it had a standover height of 30". otherwise Ill be super sad
Thanks for the comments guys, the first thing will be the seat that thing is ugly, Im wantin a selle concor lightweight.

Not for anything, I have a 29" inseam (don't know which ancestor to blame for that, but I have long torso, short legs). I am usually pretty
comfortable with a bike with a 30 1/2 to 31 inseam. I think if I had a bike with a 29" standover it would be too small. And I am talking about
the distance between the saddle and the pedal.
The Trek looks like it would fit me nice. I'm 5' 8".
You have a pretty big space under the saddle on the Pug. Is it really too big?

If I stand over the top tube it picks me up slightly. I only have the saddle that high so the bike wont look silly. Lowering it does make it fit better however the top tube is still a bit long and Im leaning over to reach the bars. I need to get a reference pic to show you guys how big this thing is.
I pulled the measurments the seller gave me and it looks like this bike will fit me great. I enjoy a somewhat smaller bike than Im supposed to have, feels sportier.
And I didnt know this before but what exactly is the standover measurement? Is it not the distance from the ground to the top tube?
