Colnago Master

A friend of mine just got an apparently NOS Colnago Master X Light Decor frame and fork, Columbus Brain tubing. It's beautiful, the lugs and workmanship are great. Looks like it's from around '97,but he can't find any serial number. Any info on this frame and tubing will be welcome.

The serial number should be on one of the rear dropouts. Mike

I saw others with Gilco "crimped" tubing, but this one is Brain oversize.

One data point, my Master Lite is Gilco.

So is mine.

Recent models were Dedacciai.

I read in Velonews the 2010 models are back to a Columbus produced steel.

Can't prove that though. I'll call the LBS later and ask.

This link will take an hour of your life away, but it also provides oodles of Master Extra Light "information" that kind of cleans up that topic.

I'd prefer to not dig in again.
