Help Identifing Aplina

Hi all, a quick introduction, I'm Shelldon living in Durban, South Africa (yup, where the World Cup is!). I'm always been a mtb'er but headed towards the road!

I've been lurking around on this forum for a while and have been inspired to start a project I've long put off. I got offered this bike some time ago, which I took, road once then stuck it in the garage (I'm a mtb'er but keen to get on the road).

I know very little about road bikes so please can you guys tell me a little about this bike. It has unfortunately been powder-coated, but it does have the words "alpina" on the seat stays. The brakes front and break are "mondolo corsa".

The guy I got it from says the only parts not original are the pedals. The seat say "Italia" and is looking a bit worse for wear. The derailers have writing on but so faded I can't really make out any words. The same goes for the chain rings, but I notice on the smaller one it clears the chain stay by a 1mm or 2!

Last but not least, there's no badges or serial number that I can find... though that could be because of a very amateur powder-coat!

I've put up some pics if it helps...

Any help would be appreciated, thanks everyone.
