Raleigh Sports - YES!!

While I’m very happy with my modest little collection of bikes, one bike I’ve always wanted to add is an English three-speed…preferably a Raleigh Sports…but I need one with a larger frame. So I was quite happy to see this listed on the auction site…the seller took my best offer, and it’s a local pickup…I’m on vacation this week…can’t wait to pick this one up.

Here’s a few photos from the seller…they’re not the best, but would anyone know what year this might be?

Thanks!

I'd guess late '60s, possibly early '70s.

Looks like an early 70's to me. The hub date should tell you when you get it.

Raleigh introduced the adjustable brakess in '74. This bike doesn't have them, so it's not newer than a '73.

I'd say late 60's...no reflectors on the pedals. Nice that it still has the B72...the most comfortable IMO.

It has the braze-ons for the mudguard. The grips look like replacement Schwinns?

Lose the dynamo!...please?:D

+1 to late 60's or early 70's. It looks very similar to my friend's matched pair of 72's.

Thanks for the info everyone...I think the dynamo will be the first to go when I get it...:)

Dynamos can be pretty useful with modern electronics, although the bottle type still has a fair amount of drag.

Also looks similar to a 1972 I have. Good luck with your new find!

Agreed but I like SA dynamo hubs on a Raleigh...it's just "right".
