Hmm, I thought we had done this once already, but I was wrong. We've done it twice in the last year:

https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ghlight=orange

https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ghlight=orange

Which reminds me... I have to get a new photo of my Orange Norman. Keep this thread active until Monday, and I'll get to it!

The Superiors were of the 4130 fillet brazed variety (even the early ones) up until 1978. The model was dropped in 1979, and the name was reintroduced in 1981 on frames built up from leftovers after the Paramounts were discontinued in 1979. It has been argued that some extremely early Superiors might be Paramounts, and at least one is - the example shown in the 1981/82 catalogs. The "new" Superior lasted until 1983.

It's so refreshing to see that beautiful classic after all the brifters, ergo bars and Thompson posts that have been appearing in C&V lately!

Thank you very much. I only wish I would get off my bum and finish this one - it's virtually complete as it is right now, except for a few small things.

No, it's Schwinn Sunset Orange. Look at the first two pics; it's the same bike below. It just looks a little redder in the last pic for some reason.

I am not sure how classic this one is but it is unusual. !977 Schwinn Sprint. The head badge makes it an A[rill 1977 bike although the frame was built in earlier. This model is listed for sale only in 1974/75 but some 1976s are known to exist. I think Schwinn found they had a bunch of left over frames and built another batch in the spring of 1977. There is one other one around that was built in May of 1977. This color was never used on Sprints in the 1974 to 1976 era and the decals are different also than the earlier bikes. Roger

That's a broken record of a song that you never tire of. I could look at that a few times a day every day and it would still make me smile.
