Help needed identifying old Stingray
 

I have an old Stingray style bike that I am trying to identify. My sister and I received matching bikes from our uncles in the late 60's. My dad cut the top tube on hers to make it into a girls bike and I discarded the fenders and chain guard from mine. I striped the my bike down to do a repaint and never put it back together. I can only find the frame now. We outgrew the bikes and they were set outside until I found them again recently. Between the two bikes, I can make a complete bike. It does not need to be an all original restoration, but in working order for my daughter to ride. I was wondering if someone might be able to tell me what bike I have. There were no badges or decals on the bikes when we got them, and they have been repainted at least twice that I know of. I did find a serial number on the bottom bracket and what looks like the original red paint. The serial number is 1063225. Here are a few pictures to see what I have.

I can tell you they're not Schwinns, but that's about the extent of my usefulness. Someone may be able to ID it based on the chainguard and saddle on the silver bike. Try posting the photos on Ratrodbikes.com also, they're very knowledgeable about this type of bike.

Looks like all you'll need to do is paint the blue frame, the fork, fenders, and chainguard from the silver bike, and put it together!

Definitely not a Schwinn, based on the cottered crank and bottom bracket. From that point on, not exactly sure what it is or where it was manufactured. During the era that this bike was manufacutred, bikes like this mostly came from Europe. So it could be something from Poland, Austria, Germany, perhaps. I don't think that it is of Asian manufacture.

Just a little update on this. I was able to contact my uncle, and he thought it was a Royce Union bike. I also did some work on it and was able to find the decal under some of the paint on the chain guard that said Western Flyer . So, I guess I have a bike that was built for Western Auto by Royce Union. :twitchy:
