Finally took a fresh shot of me, about 15-20 pounds thinner than November of last year. I haven't been riding that much since it gets dark before I leave work, just don't stuff my face like I used to! ONce I can start riding to work again, I should get even leaner, and more fit.
Me, hard at work at the bike shop, bringing a Kona Shred back from the dead. Geez how do bikes get this bad, honestly?? The cables wouldn't even move? Truly pitiful!

Thanks, Marty
Check it - we've got Sticky Status! I know there are plenty of new additions out there who have pics of themselves to share; here's where we do it.
Here's an oldie but goodie.
Me and my '86 Tommasini Prestige during my last Diego Garcia tour in 2000/2001:
The frame has since been sold, and sometimes I wish I hadn't let it go; it was the bike upon which I took my only win.

Only photo I have of myself riding. This is when I was just starting and don't have any proper riding attire yet. What I'm wearing is actually my 'post-collegiate' career track and field uniform:

Another "Then and Now" me + bike picture post.
A rare road-racing outing for the Ron Cooper which I still ride, back in 1988 (aged 16).
And here I am 24 years later competing in a duathlon (hence the gimp suit) on some lump of carbon. Still in pretty good shape, except I'd put on about 80lbs (!!) and then lost it again, in the intervening years.

I recently took my 1987 Schwinn Tempo to a triathlon! (It turned into a duathlon because of an algae bloom, hence why I'm in my cycling jersey and knickers.) It was a little out of place among all of those carbon fiber aero machines, but I had lots of fun.

The only photo that I have of me and one of my bikes in the same frame: me dorking around at the storage locker.

Hey we got a stickie for this thread! Finally!
Not many of myself on a bike, but this one's a fav, courtesy of Drillium Dude.
A perfect Winter day at South Mountain, Phoenix, AZ, 2013. Descending from the summit.
And one from the mid 80s when I was 23. The ride is the first bike I built during high school.

I hope you got rid of those bars too! Of course, if you wanted the bars as a good luck charm to hang on the wall, that would be OK. Just *please* don't put them on a bike!

J/k, buddy!
Yes, sold the bars, too. I liked them - for fit, they were comfy - but they were not light by a loooong shot.
Good to see you out and around again this summer - and how's the Appel coming along?

Who I am...Here are several progressions...First, my first road bicycle, first day I purchased it, overjoyed and happy with my mom, and my dog bear. 6' tall and 120 pounds. A climbing maniac!
And don't be jealous of those threads I am wearing!!!!!!!
Doing a tour ride in my early 90s. Please noted the gumby zip tied back by my rear brake calipers. I still have that same gumby today.
Next, Circa mid 90s at the Tour De Toona. I would go on to place 4th in this road race, and 5th in the crit the next day, after falling and breaking my collar bone. Wearing blue jersey to the front left of pic. 6' tall, 130 maybe..
AND now, 2013. 6' 175 pounds. and still having fun!
Awesome thread, awesome blasts from the past!

Here I was, all excited about your latest addition to this thread, thinking you'd finally posted a pic of you wearing the Box O' Crap Skinsuit

As far as the Appel goes, I keep on thinking about it, but then I look at the state of disarray in my basement workshop and I say never mind. Once I can get things in some semblance of order, I am quite sure it'll become one of my projects for this winter. I would probably be more intent on getting it built were it not for the fact that I got the Alpine back at the end of December. BTW, I did a century ride on the Alpine yesterday along with rhm. That bike is starting to grow on me. If only I could find a way to easily fit fenders.

^ Don't you worry, dude - you'll make it all go away. Pushing that Norman is your own personal version of an in-home gym!
And I'm only pulling your chain with regards to that jersey; sure, you promised - but it's not like you posted a time-line, right? Someday, when we least expect it...
Congrats on the century astride the Alpine - keep it up
