Like many, I am usually the photographer.
This is a recent one from Maine. Me and my pup, Flynn, on the way up to the summit of Cadillac Mtn. Pardon our expressions; it was windy.
And one I took of Flynn, atop Cadillac Mountain. Maine is amazing.

Going along with the Acadia National park theme, this is me and my Trek at the summit of Sargent mountain, which is only accessable via carriage roads. Motorized vehicles are prohibited.

Next, Circa mid 90s at the Tour De Toona. I would go on to place 4th in this road race, and 5th in the crit the next day, after falling and breaking my collar bone. Wearing blue jersey to the front left of pic. 6' tall, 130 maybe..

I've managed to teach 2 of my 3 kids to ride without training wheels this summer. Here's my three year old Son Nolan.. I think the smile says it all. can't wait to go on some S240's

It was an awesome race at the time. I remember going through tunnels at horshoe curve, climbing ridiculously steep climbs, heading up to blue knob, etc. They even closed down the one lane of I-99 to run the Time Trial. It was fun. Who did you purchase the bike? The name that comes to mind is Brooke Blackwelder. Team Bodywise...Cannondale based team. I can't remember her husband's name. She was a classy pro! really good PR person too.

@pamaguahiker - Winter usually sticks around till about aprilish.. so not too bad. But yeah, riding through the winter definitely helps me avoid the winter blues! There are basically no cyclists where I live (especially in the winter months) so I get a lot of strange looks but I kinda like the fact that people think I've got a screw loose

I'm refering to Ken/Kathy Steel. Would have been late 70's early 80's when they raced.

There were 2nd and 3rd place women finishers in 1987-88, but there are no records that exist both in the Altoona Library or in the Offical Toona Archives. The print media of that time, didn't reveal who they might be. Sarah Costanzo and Kathy Steel were both members of the Altoona Bicycle Club, but there was no official team. Both women still ride and live in the Altoona area today.
Kathy Steel is the widow of Ken Steel, a local legendary recreational cyclist who won the first organized unsanctioned bike race in Altoona, the 1975 Horseshoe Curve Bicycle Race. He died in January 1987, working as a firefighter, when a building collapsed on him. Ken Steel was a guy who thought 150 miles was just a nice Saturday ride. When he was discharged from the Army, he cycled back home to Altoona from San Francisco rather than buy a bus ticket. When his seat broke 60 miles from home, he pedaled standing up rather than phone for a ride. Ken always chose the most mountainous route he could find riding in the Altoona area, which provides no shortage of mountainous terrain.
