(I rarely carry my bike to a ride; almost all my rides begin and end at my house.)

Here's one to put a smile on southpawboston's face* On the rare occasions I do have to carry the bike, I put a rack on the back of this car:

*Anton and I first "met" over at the ElantraClub forum several years ago.

At the end of the week we'll head out on vacation and I'll have the rack on the back of my wife's car:

I've had an '03 Impreza WRX wagon for the last 5 years and its served me very well. With the seats down It will hold a full size bike with the front tire still on, and in the case of Trexlertown last fall it held a complete bike, a frameset and a spare wheelset.

I just took delivery on a Mini Clubman on Monday afternoon....first test, put a bike in the back. It goes, but the front wheel has to come off.

When it comes to versatility its hard to beat a Subaru.

I'm currently trying to figure out how to mount 3 bikes in my F150 without a bunch of structure that I would have to remove to use the truck for regular hauling.
Basically a thing like a bike rack that I can set in the bed and stand the bikes into.
Right now I just pile them in and bungee them as best I can.

Oh, we had a '67 Camp-mobile in '77, we camped all over Texas, it was great.

A friend of mine just mounted a 2x4 at the front edge of the bed, and screwed several skewer mounts to it. He can call I think 4 bikes with the front wheels removed and the bikes attached to the skewer mounts.

Awesome Pig. You should get it back!
My brother had a 72 40. It was awesome.
I just joined the fold with this...

It's a work in progress.
