Help me ID this Diamondback Centurion please

Picked it up from a guy who rides a LOT of MTBs. His is a family of cyclists and this was in pretty great shape. Acquired it for $100 and made a new friend.

Pics below...
Sticker on seat tube reads "Cr-Mo Tange Tubing #2";
Sticker on top tube reads "Centurian Designed INTERVAL"
Stickers on forks read "Super Radius Cr-Mo Blades"
Handlebar has "Centurion" engraved
Shimano Exage 400EX crank/500EX brakes
SN from bottom of BB is U91223074

Could I get a year, any relevant specs (some non-original equipment on this), and its proper model name?

Code on rear derailleur, according to http://www.vintage-trek.com/component_dates.htm#shimano is RD which says April 1993. Sound appropriate? Help IDing the bike on the whole is still wanted.

Have you looked it up on bikepedia? Its a 1993 or 1994 Diamondback "Interval".

After reading "The Centurion brand was consolidated with WSI's mountain bike brand Diamond Back in 1990." in the wiki article on Centurion, I'm guessing 1990.

The bottom bracket has the best chance of both being original and having an easy to read date code, I'd go off that. Headset is typically the most likely to be original, it's a little tougher to get at an angle where you can read it well, however.

Could very well be later with those brakes, but didn't you say it had a 6-speed cogset? 1993 or 4 seems kinda late for 6-speed.

Um...

So, I went back, and paid attention this time...it's a 7-speed cogset. So most everything fits the 93 description except perhaps the brakes? Or are those reasonable as well?

The headset is non-original, the chainrings are non-original, and the seat *might* be non-original. Everything else seems to fit the time.

Yep, a 1993 Interval. Sometimes, the build specs would change a little during the year. A lot of bikes have such nuances. My guess is that the components are original.

Mid level Diamond Back which Centurions became when production moved to Taiwan.

Great find. That Tange 2 tubing is very nice. Looks like you got dual pivot brakes, which is great. You would need another left shifter (but you probably know that) and any Shimano 6 or 7 sp 2x shifter would do.

Great pickup! Welcome to the Centurion club :)
