Solution for MY short rider
First I want to say a big Thank you to all who contributed in my last thread about bikes for the vertically challenged. My wife and I looked at Terrys and a bunch of "new" stuff and nothing really did it for her. Friday I got a pm from RHM and he said "I have a bike that should fit your wife." We drove down to visit today and he had a Trek 420 that needs some TLC but the price was right and most importantly it fits and Meg (my wife) is PSYCHED! So here is a picture and like I say with all my threads, I'll post more pictures when it's "done". I have a lot of bikes to clean up and do tune ups to (people from work are dropping bikes off for tuneups, tires etc) so my bikes just get ridden and not polished. I think I'm going to run basic black bar wrap on the baby Trek instead of white....

Very nice!!! Well done! I am pretty sure that it is a 1997 bike. Specs are here if you are interested.

Very cool of RHM to come through for you, hope your wife has a blast on it!

Thanks for the link E. We thought it was late 90's but now we have it nailed down.
Yeah I owe RHM a debt of gratitude. Usually when I am down in my dungeon working on a bike she is not interested in what's going on. Tonight though, she was down there with me and is quite excited to have d/t shifters vs brifters. She thinks they (brifters) are too bulky for such a little bike. |
