Have found a working 4d cell Maglite, 12 inch Craftsman crescent wrench, countless bungee cords, hammers, pliers, and isn't a bike considered to be a tool ?
If it is, this is my best roadside find ever and all I had to do was polish her up and install new bars. http://www.ravingbikefiend.com/bikepics/edith2010a.JPG |
found a brand new snap-on ETHOS diagnostic tool on the mup 3 weeks ago, now after investigation and everything from the local police dept, it is mine
best road side find ever (msrp is 1895$ cnd on that diag tool) and my dad can always use this tool since he own/operate a 1 man mechanic's shop. |
Sixty Fiver, you FOUND that bike? And it's one of your most sentimental ones!

In Philadelphia, there's a very good chance that it was discarded recklessly for a very good reason.

Yup, but if you pick up a "lost" gun you'll also pick up all the bodies that come along with it. :twitchy:

yeah but did you pick it up and keep/use it? it is a tool you know.

Tool wise, only a snapped Craftsman double box-end wrench. Returned it to Sears for a new one. Not much luck finding tools.
Other notable items, a Sprint cell phone in NYC, that came in handy and I used it for several years. And a Timex Expedition watch someone lost at the Grand Canyon. Looked like the band snapped while hiking the trail to the bottom. |
I am now a member of the SFC- Socket Finders Club.
Saw a shiny thing in the road and closer inspection showed it to be a small socket wrench. 10 seconds of searching turned up a 9/16 socket nearby. |
My wife used to make fun of the stuff that I dragged home... that is until the last couple of weeks. In the last two weeks I've found three iPod Touch 8GB units.
One was undamaged... one needed repair (I did it myself. It pays to be a nerdy engineer.)... and one was beyond help. So I have $25 invested in $400 worth of iPods. As a side note: If you have an iPod touch, put some kind of contact info on it or something. It is very difficult to find an owner for such a device when you find a lost iPod. |
I found a high-quality 14mm combination spanner with a ratcheting ring end on the side of the road a few years back. I can't recall the brand, but it's good for old style seatpost knuckles and bolt style seatpost clamps, amongst other things.
