Here are 2 really 'unique bikes that no one else has':

A 1958 Leader Cycles Leo Star - AFAIK, this is the only one left, although there is a G.R. Read badged one at https://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/bikes/reed-rb.html - I happened to buy some bits (including a pair of Campagnolo handlebar gear levers!) from the original owner of that machine the other day and he told me that it was actually built by Leader Cycles for G.R. Read so maybe that makes mine 1 step away from being 'unique':

A 1956 H.R. Morris Special Model - okay, not yet a 'bike' but I'm getting there. Since this photo was taken I've built wheels around the Harden hubs using Conloy Asp rims. I'm fitting the tyres and brake levers/cables tomorrow :

Probably not 'unique' but I've yet to meet or hear of anyone else who has seen one, let alone has one. A 1975 Peugeot PX60 - the week after next I'll be riding this machine some 200 miles from Yamaguchi to Okayama, along the coast of the Inner Sea of Japan - a trip I've been dreaming of for a few years. At last!!:

I repainted it. got it as a basket case---missing the wheels. did come with a campy derailer but decided on a fixed/freewheel hub and model 58 super champion rims. Took me a year of research to find the correct transfers to complete it.

And to think, I've spent the last 8 years of my life perusing Detroit's CL for one of these Leader "Leo Stars". I may as well give it up, huh?

(Nice bike, Dawes-man!)

OK Guys, Here is a bike that I truly believe could well be unique or the last survivor I am likely to find!
It is a Bernard Lee frameset bought recently on ebay circa 1950-52 and came with plenty of proof?
I like it because it is fillet brazed and very smooth and futuristic for the era, and is fitted with rare RUSS front forks to give some suspension.
It was built by the son of an Olympic cyclist and is number 26 of a probably short run from the Swindon cycle shop UK.
I love the handwritten by fountain pen spec list and receipt from 52'...Bike is shown with 27" wheels from another project, just to show geometry...ken

Thank you, auchencrow! But have you really been looking for one of these? For 8 years? I hadn't even heard of the maker when I bought this one 7 years ago and only bought it because the components (Campagnolo Gran Sport RD & hubs, M.A.F.A.C. brakes, Stronglight 49D cranks, Ambrosio stem, Brooks saddle) made me think it was probably a nicely made bike and the seller was in a tiny village a couple of miles from my nephew's house - it was a 'pick-up only' auction. And I was not disappointed as it rides very nicely despite its straight-gauge 501 tubing.

I'd puzzled over who 'Leo Star' was but the seller I mentioned I'd spoken to the other day told me that it was most likely due to Leo being the star sign of Ted Woodall, the owner/frame builder of Leader Cycles. Another tidbit of info I got was that the Hercules team bikes pre and post war were actually Leader Cycles machines...

I was being facetious about perusing Detroit's CL for one (an impossibility I know) - but not about liking your bike, Dawes-man.
I have seen you post it before, and I loved the very proper English color with the red DT script, the chromed Nervex lugs, the single ring, not to mention the ultra-cool name: "Leo Star"
- Just the bike that GANDALF would ride - if he rode a bike. . . Here's a pic of it just outside the Shire:

I would like to play . . .I know nothing more about this bike other than I like it. It came to me a mix of bits from Sugino Mighty cranks to 27 x 1 1/4 Mavic Module <<E>> rims, 105 der's the stem is a GB made out of 531 tubing.
Anyway here it is

IMO the frame is a legnano, maybe a roma?

The components who knows, the bike is so old that maybe got zillions of upgrades, even the legnano paint is so PITA that doesnt surprise me that the actual color is the Nth paint job that bike had.

Dont judge the frame based in the components, components and frame here are different.

The seat cluster does make it look like a Legnano, but that's not a thorough diagnosis.

They are "plastic". It looks like nylon with longish strands in it. Giant used them on several bikes (tcr and MCR) in the late 90s

Edit: well we posted about the same message at the same time. They were marketed as carbon, but I think it was a loose interpretation. They look better than they ride

Very cool to have original for sale advert. and postage from '52. Super nice fillet brazed frame and certainly one that few own, should make for a nice build.

I think folks are looking at this thread for the oddities of the cycle world, like eastcoaststeves Flying gate which is wicked cool too and crazy to ride with such a short wheelbase.

Many thanks for the input...I luv input...The bike is gonna be super cool when I add vintage rear mech and 3 speed block?
The bike looks modern and the receipt proves otherwise?
I might show everyone my 1954 RALEIGH works-build (competition shop) machine soon, it was built as a road training bike for track Legend REG HARRIS, and yes I have provenance for that one too...cheers Ken

Not mine but this Concorde Jubileum is owned by a good friend who has been trying to find information on it for a few years with no success.
