Can I flip this? Specialized Epic

Its in great shape, not sure of the year or if its carbon or not, but the guy only wants $100 for it.

I zoomed in on the quick release, pretty sure it says Ultegra. So Im guessing thats the grouping

Check the fork, can't tell if it is bent or not. Take a straight edge with you, and look closely for any ripples in the top tube or down tube. At $100, you are not very far from decent donor territory (if the wheels are 700c). And if the fork is fine, its a really nice buy.

As far as flipping, part of the whole question is who will do any/all mechanical work, how is your market, how are your marketing skills, etc.

picked it up today, front hub is Ultegra, everything else is RSX100. Its a 58cm, same size as my Centurion. Fork is good too

Any one know were a serial number database may be. 6J238873, would just like to decode it, get the year and such.

The down tube say carbon, yet you cannot see the carbon like some other Epics I have seen, its painted black and red instead of clear where the black is. It also has an Al fork.

Its rideable for sure, just need a shorter stem, those bars are to far forward

Well, got here all cleaned up, unfortunately, the black wobblers I threw on wont work, the bike has vertical drops, so I am getting some rub on the right chain stay, cant adjust it, Mavic's gotta go back on

Got some bar tape in the mail

I read somewhere that Specialized hided the carbon tubing under a lay of plastic to prevent galvanization between the aluminum lugs and the carbon tubing. Take the seat post out and look inside the seat tube if you want to see carbon. Nice Epic! I have a blue one just like yours but I think your red one looks better. I love the ride except up hill climb and descend with curves.
