Changing bolt in Dia-Compe brakes?

An eBay seller in Jolly Old has the Dia-Compe 500-series calipers I'm looking for NOS at a reasonable price. However, they're all rear calipers. How hard is it to swap out the center bolts? I'm quite sure I can find even an incomplete front caliper for next to nothing at one of the co-ops...

Anything to watch for, any pitfalls?

Are you talking about G 500's? The bolt on those is switchable, I've torn down a set to rebuild them.

I've had Dia-Compe G, N, and Q model brakes apart and they're all really easy to deal with. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the bolts interchanged between the models, with different finish qualities of course. If memory serves, you'll have two arms, three flat washers, two nuts, and a spring - that's it. Go for it.

Yes! It's my time to come to the rescue of another C&Ver. I have a bolt, nut, and spring retainer from a 1981 Dia Compe G-500 front brake. PM me your address and it's in the mail Tuesday.
