Centurion Le Mans RS

So I just got another bike, save for the wheels. This is the first Centurion to get me thinking about starting to collect them too. That said the bike is not my size :( so I am thinking of throwing on one of my wheel sets and selling it. Hopefully it's sale will fund my obtaining the proper size. What do you all think the best (most humane to the bike) option is? Throw on some period correct wheels, then sell? Go the trendy route with some aero wheels n flip hub? :innocent: Just sell the frameset to a properly sized rider?

Considering the lack of running gear (derailleurs, cranks, etc.) but the presence of brakes, I would either add cranks and wheels set up a single speed, or sell it as is to someone who would fit it better. On the latter note, I may be interested depending on your location.

Cheers

Is it purple, blue, or black?

the bike is black, I also have every part from it. I just took everything off to overhaul it. It would take all of a few minutes to put it back into original shape. I also have a set of Weinmann aero wheels waiting to be used...

Iverhagen, I can't send pm's yet. But shoot me one with your info if you're interested.

That's a popular color.
You could build it into a light touring bike, geared for hills, that you give to your brother-in-law.
Two more cm's (56 needed) and I'd be calling you....

Robbie, we have very similar tastes (or maybe it's just the most natural progression for that bike to follow). I'm really thinking that I'll build it up with the Weinmanns I have, sell it on CL, then buy either another in my size or a Turbo.

The frame/fork have excellent clearance, and I've had 700c Weinmanns on that very bike, running 28's, with no problem, plenty of room for fenders and eyelets, also.

Light touring is fine, but the geometry is still a little twitchy for standard 4-pannier touring loads. I've been looking for a 56cm Lemans RS or Lemans for a short time, have a triple group, all new, ready to go.
