Brooks B17 Saddle
Can anyone tell me the difference between the B17 and the B17s? I do realize the 17s is a womens model but it there that much difference between the two? The reason I ask is that I can pick up a new b17s for a great price and if the difference is not noticeable I suppose I'll buy it.

It's wider and slightly shorter.

I hate to say it, but those womens' brooks sure are comfy, especially when sitting in an upright position.

Do you think it would be OK for a man then? I don't care if anyone laughs, I just want to be sure it would not be a bad fit?

Hi Capecodder,
I'm not so sure that the S model would work for you. I have a Brooks Pro S that I have fought (and continue to fight) with. The difference between super comfy and sitting on a rivet is seriously in the millimeters. Its fine once I find a position, but if I have to swap the saddle out to another bike or adjust it even slightly I fight with it for hours to get back to comfort. The other thing that bothers me about the experience is that I went on Brooks' "unsolicited testimonial" page and said the same thing, that the saddle might not the best for gents, etc, and they never published it. |

im not sure if the b17s is wider, but it is shorter. i got a deal on a b68s, and i use it without shame. riding no hands is slightly trickier, but thats about it.
