Crank thread repair

Hey Guys,
Has anyone ever repaired stripped crank pedal threads? I know about the Park tap set, that's just to clean threads or cut english threads into french cranks. I've been looking at this set.

You're welcome to try mine out, if you have the handle that fits on the taps (I have the handles for the dies only).

I lucked out and found one one of those kits on ebay for $20 shipped this spring,I got it to repair a stripped pedal on a SR crankset for my wife's bike. The one thing I noticed is that the insert was a lot deeper ( thicker then the crank arm) then the thread I needed to repair and would have had to be cut or ground off flat when done. I haven't done the repair yet as I found 2 more of the same crank set ups with nothing wrong with them. If you don't do repairs like this often then it might be cheaper to have a LBS do the repair for you or take Kurts offer up. This is a good kit and you shouldn't ever have to worry about stripping the repaired pedal threads again once repaired right, mine didn't have the instructions with it but I would use some type of Locktite on the insert and let it sit for a day or 2 before/if you need to cut off any of the insert.
