To those going to the T-town swap

Are we riding afterwards?

Zaphod Beeblebrox 09-20-10 10:13 PM

I'd love to if someone is willing to lead.

I'll be riding my Bob Jackson which I'll be picking up in my size for $3.50 in the parking lot
And then I will wake up.

I'll have something down there to ride, I'd love to.

OK, that sounds reasonable. I just need to grease the BB of my Merkkx that I found at a church rummage sale for $2.25 and I'm ready to ride. There are quite a few nice rides in that area. We could leave from my house (about 10 minutes from the Velodrome) for a nice 10-30 mile ride. With the leaves changing, it should make for a nice ride

I like the idea of a ride. That way I can say to my wife, "I'm going to go for a ride" without any mention of a swap meet. :innocent:

Not that I'm expressing any commitment, you understand.

Still... what time do you expect "afterwords" to be? I'd have to be home 2:30-ish.

Zaphod Beeblebrox 09-21-10 10:18 AM

Sounds great. We got 2 really good spots adjacent to each other....you'll be coming to the swap right?

rudi, generally the swap winds down around 2ish...my guess is we'd be riding after that.

I'm probably out for the post-swap ride. Limited transport space and usually I'm pretty bushed after sitting/standing in the sun for 6-7 hours straight. However, I am bringing a couple bikes so maybe if one or the other don't sell I could at least put it to use!

Rob and his tent are sharing my space. :D It should be fun to BS for a while, earn some bike fund money, and go on bike part reconnaissance missions!

Don't forget, I have a tent that I'll be sharing with you. You'll be FULL of energy after relaxing in the cool shade of my tent....

I hope like heck I can ride more next year...

It's looking like I might be able to go...but I'll be there early and will have to leave early. I have a cousin's wedding later that day.

Zaphod Beeblebrox 09-22-10 08:16 AM

Its just nothing but weddings all the way down for you isn't it?!

JunkYard, you'll be fine for a ride :) besides, we're all gonna ride the Holy Grail scores we'll be finding at the swap for the cost of a hotdog. ;)

Seriously though, something like 20 miles sounds really good to me. I'll either ride my Austro-Daimler or Team Miyata.

I have a very nice 20ish mile ride that will take us through farmland w/ a few rolling hills. I tried a more scenic route w/ a big hill @ the beginning and found out I couldn't make it up the first part (my car has issues with that part too)! So I walked up. Oh well. The road down is awesome though! It's about 2 miles or so of a twisty downhill through the woods with a few 40+mph descents!:D It made walking the first section totally worth it.

Zaphod Beeblebrox 09-22-10 11:31 PM

sounds good! I ain't afraid of no hills. :)
