Well it went for $35.

Good thing it was not nearby - I might have gone for it as a local pick-up: It looks like a fun project, and I'm partial to orange and white Records.

BTW - Do you believe the story about the Brooks disintegrating?? I mean, why did he say it was "nice" if it was mummified?

I think it's equally likely that he bought the bike for $5 at a garage sale, and then a giant bear came and chewed up the Brooks saddle, so he could not include it in the sale.

Vintage Raleigh Record , Beautiful original , well preserved , Orange Paint / white trim ,, Paint is in exceptionally Fine condition for year ., Forks have nary a scratch , very nice , There are a few on the frame , the worst is a scratch on the top tube , pictured .no dents or dings . Careful cleaning and detailing will be needed .it's dirty from age . Everything is Original And Complete , Except for the tyres , 27" Have Been replaced , hold air fine , but are showing signs of aging . And The Saddle ,, A Nice leather Brooks was so dry , when i sat on it , it broke, very dry , so i removed it . Bike is only lacking saddle . Also Present are the Heron logo reflectors on the Forks , right side has a small scratch , but not on heron .

Original running gear , Handlebar tape is well worn , Bike shifts , stops , steers and tracks as new . Very comfortable ride .Seat tube Measures 21"ctcWith a stand over height of 30" .

Nice For the collector , Condition is everything ! ,Never Messed with , And Has all "R" Cap Nuts !
I'd Go over the whole thing , repack hubs ( Sturmey Archer) , B.B( Nevar Crankset and axle ) . And headset , Probably all original packings original ,, Shipping to the 48 . local Pick up is Fine
