More info on a Dunhill 10-speed?

Checking out this bike on Craigslist and thinking of picking it up for parts or fixer-upper:

Can anyone tell me more info? I'm awaiting some close up photos and description of components from the seller. I can't find anything about this brand, Dunhill, on the interwebs.

Though I know little, if anything, about the Dunhill bicycle, I can see that this bike is entry level. Steel wheels and probably steel hubs. Steel cottered crank set. Probably steel bars with dual position brake levers. Best guess to weight would be in the 30-32 pound range.

Personally, I wouldn't waste my twenty bucks but I get lots of really good bikes where I live. You, however, might get a kick out of fixing it up and riding it around.

From what I can see from the teenie pic, it looks like a 70's bike boomm low end department store bike. There were hundreds of brands like these that came out of the woodwork with names that seem to hint quality as this one must have been trying by indirect association with the company "Alfred Dunhill" of London, maker of fine pipes and tobacco(?). so don't get too excited. It may be worth the 20 bucks if everything on it works at least and you might be able to clean it up to use for a "beater bike", but it's definitely no collector bike and parts on it might not even be worth much. Flipping it cleaned and tuned up might double the 20 bucks in a very good day. A common Peugeot UO8 is worth much more the effort any day, IMO.

Bike brand with zero hits on google = private label department store bike from the bike boom.
