Nice! I had a '78 Supercourse a while back, and have coveted a Professional ever since. I actually think that was sort of the point of the Super Course, or maybe it was the other way around. They made the Professional to sell more Super Courses. Where's the International? Didn't they have one in 77?

You can thank the circulation of the Retro Raleighs / National Cycle Museum .PDF's for this misconception.

Nope. It was axed along with the Gran Sport (of which a few examples did escape the factory wearing the '77 Suntour componentry of the Grand Prix).

I knew there were 27" Super Courses out there, but this is the first time I have seen an actual catalog page with one listed. The quest continues....

27" frame, that is? Yes, the '77+ generation of SC's came in this size. Additionally, the Sprite also gained a 25" frame variant, and - for the first time - a 3-speed Sprite was offered.

Nice!

So why does the cover includes the word Rampar? Even the intro page mentions Raleigh / Rampar. Was it another bike company Raleigh took over?

May my scanner never be idle.

It's my hope that Kurt can host a copy of every catalog from 1970 to at least 1982 within the next couple of years. And eventully back into the early 1930's. If anyone finds copys of the missing catalogs, please scan them and submit them!

b dub, Rampar was Raleigh's sub brand of bikes imported from Japan/Taiwan. Raleigh didn't brand imported machines as Raleighs until 1981 or so.

Very cool! Do you by chance have a full 1971 Raleigh catalog to scan? I have a Competition that is white with blue panels that I believe is from 1971 but haven't been able to find the catalog info for it anywhere.

I've been after the complete '71 (the circulating .PDF is a road-only catalog) and '72 catalogs for ages now.

I have that Competition GS. Maybe one of these days I'll finish restoring it so I can tell you how it rides.

Thanks for sharing!
