Univega Gran Turismo 1978

Hi out there, posting for the first time and would appreciate any help regarding this bike I recently acquired. I'm a newbie at this sort of thing but it seems T-Mar has a serial # data base. Mine is F297843. It also had to white square stickers on each end of the serial # (B,D). Would you know how I may obtain more info on it? Thank you for any help given.

Google is about the only place to get info on Univegas. You can google this forum, or just google everything. Lots of threads on Gran Turismos. Company is long gone, and they never actually made bikes anyway. Univega outsourced the manufacture of their bikes (not uncommon).

Thank you for the response. Is there a Univega Owners Group?

What are the date codes on the components, this will get you started as far as the year of the bike (providing it's the original componenets)?

Check out this link for date code information. https://www.vintage-trek.com/component_dates.htm
