For Cyclists in Tuscany, Winning Isn’t the Point
NY Times
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/07/wo...y.html?_r=1&hp Next year--I'm making it a strategic imperative to go. Anyone else? Right at the the start of white truffle season, too. I've got three bikes, and although none are Italian threaded, all qualify being pre-1987 and steel framed. |
I'd love to go, but won't until I retire.
I teach middle school aged students, and I am in my prime time season with them when this event is scheduled. I have the bike though, a very special vintage Italian racer that sits patiently waiting at my nephew's home in Bavaria. I just have to be patient. |
C&V could flood the "race" with American steel as well. :thumb:
Do they test your A and B samples for "doping" on too many truffles and Italian wine? :innocent: I'm there in a heart beat. I love Italy. |

We look forward to broadening our knowledge of southern Italy as well, and are starting to research our options. |

On second thought, the ride is a bit beyond my skill. I will volunteer for the catering crew, however. |
I'm barely missing it...I'll be in Milan early November.
